Denise journeyed to India to review the Oberoi Amarvilas, Oberoi Rajvilas, the Taj Lake Palace, the Imperial Delhi, and the Umaid Bhawan Palace. At that time, she interviewed Gaj Singh, the Maharaja of Jodhpur, and Gayatri Devi, the Maharani of Jaipur, which gave perspective to some of the hotel properties which were once the homes of kings and queens. The Maharaja spoke with great pride about his favorite visitors to the Umaid Bhawan Palace over the years, before it was converted into a Taj property: Jackie Onassis Kennedy, Prince Charles, and the Four Queens of Bhutan, to name a few.
